“Baby, look at me,” Hunter whispered.


“I get it. I’m sorry. I just thought…” Van heaved a sigh.


“No, you don’t fucking get it. I said I have never brought a man home. I never said I wouldn’t. I want to bring you home. I want you to meet my family, all of them, and soon. And I want to meet yours. Shit, they would all be in complete shock if I actually brought home someone for them to meet. I’ve always wanted them to meet someone who was important to me, but the thing is, there hasn’t ever been anyone important enough to bring home. They know I’ve had some hook-ups.”
