A clearing of a throat and several chuckles got them both to reluctantly part as they looked towards the door. Hunter laughed out loud, then groaned in slight pain.


“Come on in, guys. You weren’t interrupting anything!” Hunter stated sarcastically.


“Oh, hush, smart ass!” Evi laughed and walked over to the bed, kissing Hunter on the forehead. “I told you to be careful!” Everyone in the room chuckled. “You boys never listen,” she said, winking at them. Hunter’s dad and Ethan came up to the bed.


“You okay, son?” Jake whispered, getting all choked up.


“Yeah, dad. I don’t remember much after seeing Carol and Rowdy, then…”


“Well, Van here jumped out and shot Stimmy in the head like twenty times after you were shot!”


They all grinned. Then the laughter erupted.
