Cinder gave him a measured look. “You know, perhaps on second thought you should stay here.”

“Wh-why?”

“Because I have business to attend to and with you around I won’t be able to concentrate,” Cinder explained. “I’ll find myself thinking of you without a stitch of clothing on, and how does one go about making deals under such conditions?”

“Oh,” Io said, his shoulders sagging a bit. He saw the reasoning behind Cinder’s sudden change of mind and he most definitely couldn’t blame the man, but he’d been hoping to tag along. Mainly because he enjoyed spending his waking moments with Cinder, whether it be discussing some hideous tragedy in the news or a recent episode of their favorite TV show or just quietly sitting in each other’s presence. He also wanted to see Blackstone Manor and the work being done to the former grand estate, after all, it had been his drive to break the rules that saved the building from utter destruction. “Don’t take long?”
