Chapter 37

Oh, the things it was doing to him.

How was staying away from fun times with Io going to keep his beloved safe from Ran’imy? Clearly his logic needed some tweaking. He should have been going out of his way to spend more time with Io, just in case Ran’imy decided to pay them a visit, which he wholeheartedly expected to happen at some point. At least if he was at Io’s side his lover would have a fighting chance at making it through the ordeal in one piece. Not that Cinder doubted Io’s ability to protect himself, the alpha just feared the malice coursing through Ran’imy and the level of harm it would drive her to. She already tried to kill Io once, sending him into the depths of the lake.

But Cinder spent far too much time dwelling on a bitter ex-friend when he should have been fooling around with Io.
