“I think you sort of just did.”

“Gearing up for Hallow’s Eve?”

“In a manner of speaking,” he said. “Io has his heart set on throwing a party, costumes and all.”

Gerard arched an eyebrow, looking around at the various ornaments dotting the front yard. The dangling bats and ghosts as well as the fake graveyard had been joined by lit black brooms lining the sidewalks, a skeleton popping out of a bush, and a giant spider presided over a rather realistic looking web stretched across a front window. Cinder had to admit, Io had done an impressive job on getting the yard trussed up, the interior, too.

“He might be onto something there.”

“There is no time.”

“Walk with me,” Gerard said, gesturing that they head into the night.
