I approached the house. It was an old building, ill-maintained, two-stories, with a weedy backyard. The rent had to have been on the low side. Either that or they were getting royally screwed. Anyway, all the lights were off, everyone apparently asleep. Phew

I didn’t know what I was looking for. Something to incriminate them, I figured. Something to lead the police their way. Four guys who beat up defenseless older men had to have things they were hiding in their closets, so to speak. All I had to do was search said closets. Sure, that meant a little breaking and entering, but it was for the greater good, right?

Gee, just look how good I was getting at that whole justifying shtick.
