Simon scowled, probably for effect, knowing Simon. “Don’t I get a vote?”

I shook my head. “You gave up all voting rights when you joined the Fierce Force.”

He locked eyes with me. “But I didn’t join; I was drafted.”

I shrugged. I turned around. I tossed the drive over my shoulder. “Same diff,” I said. “And tag, once again, you’re it.”

He sighed. Poor guy. I felt sorry for him. You know, almost. I mean, he was getting free black coffee and free oat bars and free sex with Doug; the least he could do was read the illegally obtained information off a flash drive we blackmailed someone to get, information that could destroy a U.S. senator and perhaps me as well. As an FYI, Pony Espresso made a mean cup of black coffee, so yeah, it was worth it, minus the whole sex with Doug thing.

His head leaned back against the seat. I could still see him in the rearview mirror. He blinked and, again, he sighed. “Fine.”

“Really?” I said.
