They said their goodbyes, and Heidi disappeared down the stairs. Daniel took what she said to heart, opting to find something else to focus on. He started with a shower, bathing in the hot water. There were a few tasks related to his company that he put off for a while, and now was as good a time as any to see them done. For starters, he wanted to update the existing logo. Then see if adding extra services for his clients was plausible. Reenergized, he bounced down the stairs, bypassed the cupcakes, as tempting as they were, and snatched an apple from the bowl next to them. The crunch was satisfying, juice dribbling down his chin.
