“Very good. What you have to know is Lou is his new name, but his ‘real’ name now. He was involved with some very bad people and then he testified against them. So now he’s in the Witness Security Program.”
“Okay.” She frowned. “Was he bad too?”
“He was,” Walter replied truthfully. “But he decided he was going to turn over a new leaf. That’s why he went to court to testify against them.”
“So now he’s in hiding so they won’t find him and kill him, like on TV.”
“Exactly.”
She looked very serious when she asked, “Are we going to go there, where he is, and you know, live with him? Cause he can’t come here. They’d find him.”
“That’s what I’m hoping, if he wants us to.”
“Well duh, of course he will. If you love him and he loves you, you’re supposed to do that.”
“That’s how I feel about it, but I haven’t talked to him yet to see if he feels the same.”
“So go tell him.”
Walter laughed, hugging her hard. “I was planning on it, but only if you approved.”
