Chapter 24

“Well, that killed all of ten minutes,” Rae said when they were back in the car. “And before you panic, there he is.”

“Piece of cake,” Lou said, sliding into the passenger seat before handing Rae her laptop. He didn’t get the chance to say more as he was being kissed quite hard by his husband. When they broke apart he grinned. “You docare about my safety.”

Wayne’s voice was husky when he replied, “Always. And don’t give me any guff about it.” Then he dug a bug-detector out of his pocket, handing it to Rae.

She ran it over the laptop. “It’s clean,” she told him, giving it back. “As soon as we land somewhere, I’ll check to be certain no one’s tried to access it.”
