What happens when a closeted animal activist and were-shifter hires a "problem fixer" to save his friends from being wrongly convicted of murder?<br><br>Ryan Hunter soon finds out when he slinks off to meet a mysterious stranger named Ian West, another were-shifter who possesses not only a dangerous reputation, but also the prestige for successfully performing unusual tasks, regardless of any legal restrictions he might face.<br><br>But to Ryan's pleasant surprise, he finds Ian not quite as menacing as he was led to believe, and also extremely attractive. Sparks immediately fly between them, and Ryan can only hope that once the urgent mission to save his friends is complete, he and Ian might be able to get to know one another better, despite their enormous differences. Not only is Ryan hiding his true sexual orientation from those who know him best, but he has the ability to shift into a raven, whereas Ian, openly gay, has the unique ability to shift into a ferret. Ferreting Out the Truth

“I’ve deactivated the elevator, but keep a watch anyway,” Ian says, and he starts to strip, not trembling in the slightest.


Ryan really hopes Ian has fixed the cameras to do what he said he would. Ryan is so nervous, he doesn’t even ogle Ian as he strips down to nothing. Ian looks at him, winks, and transforms until a white and brown ferret is on the floor. Ryan can’t help reaching down to stroke Ian’s back. Ian makes a small sound, then dashes off, carefully darting around lasers. Ryan watches in amazement as Ian takes seconds to get through the grid, then turn back into human form. He presses the grids KILL switch, and the lasers disappear.


Ian comes back and dresses quickly, then checks his computer and nods to Ryan to keep going. Within moments, they’re in the CEO’s office, and Ian heads for the wall safe.


“Is it a safe you can get into?” Ryan asks. It’s one of the many things he’d worried about during planning this break-in.
