Rescued

The phone ringing made Dean jump at the same time Coop did. Coop grabbed the phone, but handed it to Dean.


Dean’s voice shook, even though he was determined to stay strong and not show how upset he and Coop were. Colt had enough to worry about right now. Dean wasn’t sure if he should put the call on speaker phone or not. One glance at a worried Coop cemented the decision, at least this time.


“Everything okay at the home front, Coop?”


“Yeah, yeah, it’s all good, nothing we can’t handle.”


Dean took a deep breath, hoping this rescue would be over soon.


“The electricity came back on, and a bear came back. I scared it off.” Coop sounded so proud of the fact.


“How’s it going out there, Colt?” Dean inquired.


“I just got to the area of Kip’s phone. Dean, maybe you should take me off speaker.”


“I’m okay, Uncle Colt. I need to know.”
