Chapter 12

“You want this?” Nate asked.

“Yeah, sure,” Morgan said, taking the sticky mass by sandwiching it between two graham crackers and a slab of chocolate.

“Penny for your thoughts.”

Morgan scrambled for something to say. He couldn’t tell Nate what he’d actually been thinking. Yet he knew that at some point he’d have to if these happenings were really the work of some spirit guide. Finally, he said, “I’m just enjoying being here. When you’re out in the wild, it makes life in the real world seem so hectic and stressful. It’s nice to get away and just put all your worries aside for a time.”

“Would those worries involve me?” Nate asked as he sat down on the log next to Morgan.

Shit! Morgan thought. He hadn’t meant for his comments to open a door to this discussion. He’d hoped they would have deflected it.

“Don’t be silly. Why would I worry about you?” Morgan asked, feeling guilty for not being completely up front with his boyfriend.
