“They can also mean go this wayor you’re on the right path. They were used by the Indians to direct you to the best hunting or fishing grounds. That’s what one like this means. Justin held one up. It looked roughly like a man with one pointed arm as if indicating some direction. “This one means you’ve reached your destination.” Justin then held up one also shaped like a man but with both arms out to the sides, ends blunt. “They’re kind of a prehistoric GPS,” Justin said with a smile.

“How did you learn all this?” Morgan asked.

“Ben. You remember the Ojibwe kid I told you about; the one who told me about spirit guides?”

Just then Nate came in. “All set. Guess we’ll be on our way.”
