Chapter 59

“What?” he asked, puzzled. “Did I say something wrong?”

“No, not at all,” Miriam said.

“It’s almost like the Wolf Spirit is guiding you already,” James added.

Morgan thought for a moment, then said, “I think you may be right. I’ve never told you how I got to Agawa, have I?”

Both Miriam and James shook their heads.

Morgan told them the story of the strange things that happened to him as soon as he and Nate came to Canada. He told them about his dreams, how the grey wolf had appeared to him at the camp, and how the inuksuk had led him. When he finished, both Miriam and James sat in silence for a while.

Then James said, “I think you’d better go on your vision quest soon.”

After Miriam had said goodnight and left the room, James moved over to sit next to Morgan. He put an arm around Morgan’s shoulders. Morgan turned to him, and James leaned in so they could kiss.
