“Thanks.”
I guess last night’s meeting with Mickey was more than I thought it would be. I’d left there right after her sister came home. We never got to have that drink, but I learned a lot about her. When I hung up from Joyce, I called Mickey right away.
“I didn’t get to talk to the partner who handles trademarks and patents, but I made an appointment to run it by him on Monday. I should have something to tell you at orchestra rehearsal Tuesday night.”
“Thank you for going out of your way for me,” she said.
“It wasn’t a hard thing. I think you’re very talented.”
“Thanks,” she said. “Oh, we never got to have that drink last night, did we?”
“No. We got so into your designs, we never thought of it.”
“What are you doing tonight?” Mickey asked.
“Ah…I have plans to go out after work with some of the other paralegals. We go out together almost every Friday night. I’d cancel it, but it’s Rob’s birthday.”
“Not a problem. It was just a thought. I’ll see you at orchestra practice.”
