They moved so I’d have room to sit.

Joseph smiled at me. “We hear you met Jessica the other night.”

I shrugged. “Only for a moment. She was quite pissed off I was here.”

“That’s all right,” Vincent added. “We’re always pissed off when she’shere.”

“We never thought she was right for Michela,” Joseph clarified. “We were surprised it lasted three years.

“She probably won’t be back,” Mickey added.

“Good!” Joseph declared.

“And where are you two going today?” Vincent asked.

“Stop being a big brother, big brother,” Mickey said. “We’re going wherever Ashlee wants to go. She hasn’t told me yet.”

“Mickey opted for seafood, so I’m taking her to the best seafood restaurant on the Eastern Shore.”

“The Eastern Shore? That’s three hours from here.”

“Yes, it is.”

“Better have some breakfast before you make that drive,” Joseph suggested. He signaled to a waitress, who immediately brought me a cup of cappuccino and a plate of rusks and biscotti.
