He ate quickly, spooned seconds into his bowl, and polished that off, too. He sighed, shook his head, and put pen to paper, but a loud crash and a shout had him jumping again, and splattering ink all over, ruining a brand new sheet. He slammed the pen down, creating yet more mess by streaking ink across his hand. Exasperated, he grabbed a cloth and wiped at it as best he could and then stalked towards the noise.
