“I’m here. You are safe.” Will stroked the back of his head, his neck, and his shoulders until he realised what he was doing and stopped.


“Will, thank God. I couldn’t find you.” Dearne wrapped his arms around him, pressed his face into his neck, and went still, his body melting around him, leaving Will staring into the darkness again, and holding his breath. Dearne slid one leg over his, squeezed his thigh, pressed a gentle kiss to his chest, and sighed.
