Chapter 13

Brushing hair off my forehead, Lindsey asked, “How about you stay the night? No pressure. You can sleep out here, or in bed with me, and I promise to keep hands off, though it will pain me to do so.” He winked.

I studied him. “I don’t mind sharing a bed with you, and as much as I’d like to take things further between us, would you mind terribly if nothing happened tonight? It’s been so long, and I don’t want to ruin what we seem to be building by jumping ahead of ourselves.”

“Are you still thinking I’ll toss you aside? It’s not a competition, you know? Whether you’re greatin bed or whatever. Sex is only a small part of the equation. It helps to know we’re compatible, sure, but if we plan on being together for the long haul, we need to have something else to build on, too, something permanent.”
