Chapter 130

“If it isn’t Andrew, but it is someone who was killed like Dawson and Prescott, at least we’ll have another chance to see if the killers made contact with the victim through his work.”

“Quinn,” Brent said quietly, “whether it’s Andrew or someone else, it’s Hardin’s case now, not ours.”

“Bull! Either way, we were hired to find out what happened to Andrew. In my book, that means finding his killer if he was murdered.”

Brent shook his head. “Think about it. Hardin has resources we don’t. How can we do better than him?”

“We found the people who saw Andrew and Dawson with those men, which sure as hell he didn’t.”

“He would have, in time.”

“Which we don’t have. They’ve killed at least three men already. They could strike again any time now.”

“We don’t know the newest body is connected to the other two.”

“We know Andrew’s connected to Dawson, because of those men.”

“No, we don’t. Quinn,” Brent replied firmly. “It’s all conjecture. You could be seeing something that’s not there.”
