Hayden sighed. “It’s bad. Jae is either a class A enabler or Declan has him wrapped around his finger so tightly that Jae can’t tell the difference between what Declan wants and what’s truly good for him. Kept insisting that Declan is wonderful on his good days and manageable on his bad ones, but when I brought up medication or having Declan go to a support group, it was a knee jerk, ‘He doesn’t need those.’ He doesn’t even see a therapist. Apparently he saw a psychiatrist a couple times but all he did was treat him like the bad guy and give him a prescription.” Hayden snorted. “I remember those days. I got so paranoid during my manic episodes I thought everyone wanted to shut me in an institution and forget about me. He needs a therapist, though. Psychiatrists…some of them will listen to you and offer non-medicated solutions, but in my experience therapists are way better at helping you cope.”
“Did you change his mind at all?”
