Chapter 54

“We did it, Maj!” His fingertips were still on his lips when I turned to him. “One down, fourteen to go.”

“Yeah.” He finally moved them, as AJ made his way out the door, presumably to congratulate all the women with his mouth.

“I figured out I mess up when I think,” I said, finally slipping on a pair of shorts. It had taken forever to find my hanger—or maybe I was caught up watching AJ kiss a bunch of men. “Now I know.”

“We told ya so. Stay out of here.” Major tapped my forehead with the fingers that had been on his lips. “Any small error feels way worse to you than it looks to the audience anyway. Trust me.”

“Always.” I’d been wanting to hug him since curtain call and was happy to finally get the chance, even if I had to wait until both of us were full dressed again.

“There are my superstars.” Abby was waiting for us outside.

“There’s mine.” Major’s smile warmed the already sweltering lobby.

“It’s barely a walk-on,” Abby said. “Oh.”
