Chapter 60

“Will you be able to?” Major asked.

There was barely enough light to make out his features. I could see his form as he looked up toward me, but not his eyes or his mouth. “Probably not. I’ll just count the stars and go over choreography in my head, like I do most nights anyway lately.”

Major chuckled. “Okay.” He kissed my bare leg, the only part of me he could reach that wasn’t inside my underwear. It gave me a jolt and a desire to kiss him back. I couldn’t, though.

Totally wrong about not sleeping, the next thing I knew, daylight was breaking. We were all intertwined, restless in the night, apparently, though too exhausted to remember moving. At least I didn’t. Abby was at my back. Stiff with morning wood, I was pressed to AJ. He and Major were face to face, bare torso to bare torso, like beautiful naked, kissing statues. My arms were around them both, with my mouth to AJ’s neck. I wondered if I’d drooled on him while asleep.
