Chapter 10

“And they actually do it?”

“If they don’t, we throw their things back into their own mess.”

“What an excellent system. I’m not sure I can get enough people to try it with me at home, but it’s worth an attempt.”

Adley laced up his boots. “I wish you luck.”

“I’ll need it. Ready to go?”

“Yes. My skis are in the shed.”

The shed stood just to the side of their house where it held skis and skates for every member of the family except the baby, who was too young for such things. Adley used his skis more than most elves, but all elves knew how to ski and skate. Skating, in particular, was a common pastime among elves, and those who could do tricks on the ice were greatly admired. The more complicated the trick, the better.

He took his skis and poles off the rack and stepped onto the skis with practiced ease. “Did you have a route in mind?”
