“No pressure, though,” Greg continued. “Just throwing that out here as a possibility.”

“It’s a good idea,” I said.

“You’d be more than welcome,” Wes added.

“Cool.” Greg blew out a big breath. Relief? “I’ll pay my fair share, of course, but it’d be way cheaper than getting my own place. I could save a chunk of my early paychecks toward furnishing a place of our own.” He rolled his eyes. “But I’m getting ahead of myself—gotta get a job first.”

“True.” I didn’t want to invest too much time getting my hopes up, either. Greg had gotten great grades, and with his personality, he would probably show well at the interviews. Even so, the jobs were likely to be highly competitive.
