Chapter 34

That was a long time ago. As the manager for my department, I did a lot of physical work but not nearly the same level of exercise as my college years. Hence, some of that wrestling muscle had settled into something decidedly less than firm. My arms and legs were okay, I guess, but my middle...well. I suppose if you watched television and drank beer every night, it caught up to you eventually.

“You always say shit like that,” Henry retorted, bringing my thoughts back to the present. “You don’t see what I see.”

“Yeah, I know. ‘An adorable Teddy bear looking for love.’ That’s so corny.”

Who names his child Theodore, anyway? Bane of my existence. I mean really, no one knew how much shit I had to endure in school with all the nicknames. I begged my dad to change my name lots of times growing up, without success. Maybe that's another reason why I won so many wrestling matches. I was always pissed off.
