Chapter 30

A quick wash off in the Station’s water shower made him feel a little more human. Jason would give his firstborn to have John join him, but the shower area was too small to accommodate them both. It remindedJason of an old cloth kid’s tunnel. He smiled when he made it to their room, because John waited for himin their nest of a sleeping bag.

In fact, as soon as Jason was in sight, John grinned, affection plain in the lines around his smiling lips and crinkled eyes. There was a leer too. As much as he just wanted to curl up in John’s arms and rest, that expression called to him. It had been longer than he wanted since he and John had last enjoyed each other, not since the Cupola, they were so busy. Survival took a lot of work.
