“Ten more minutes, I think,” ‘Lach replied. The brogue was thick and distracted. “I might have it down to seven if this piece of shit cooperates.”

The oxygen reading wasn’t as good. “I think I can swing seven, but you better hurry the hell up.”

Calm, steady breaths were the key to making his air last, but it was almost too lofty a goal. Every vibration from the debris colliding with his EMU sent a jolt of fear along his spine. His air gauge said he had about twenty minutes left, so seven minutes was a guess. There was no telling how bad the leak was.

“Jason?” John had a pleading note to his voice. He sounded so rattled. “Come to the hatchway, so I can see you.”
