The men stood and stared at Sartin. He stared back. After a few moments, the men left the hut. Sartin leaned against the wall. He tugged at the chains around his arm. The links in the chains rattled with each movement, the sound unsettling his stomach.
His entire body ached from the abuse he had taken when the men on the wooden whale captured him. His bodywanted to sleep but his mind raced, developing a plan to escape the light colored men.
Sartin closed his eyes. His first moments with Maru appeared in his dream-like state. The handsome features, full lips, and deep brown eyes. Maru had treated him much different. Not only had Maru thought Sartin was a god, but Sartin saw now, in the dream, that Maru had liked him.
Wary at first, Kekoa and the other warriors soon warmed up to him. These pale faced men had other ideas for him.
