He smiled at them. “My evening is going well. And yours? Having fun?”

“Oh, yes,” Heather gushed. “This place is great! We’re all having a great time. I’ve been here only a couple times.”

“That’s great. Glad you girls could come out and enjoy yourselves.” He paused, waiting, because he sensed it coming. It was almost fun to see them try to figure things out. They looked at each other, as if silently debating which of them would speak. Kevin finally decided to be nice and help them out. “Is there something you need? A question you have for me maybe?”

Heather looked relieved. “Yes, umm, how…I mean, are you and Mac Winters…” She squirmed in her seat.

“Are you and Mac dating?” Lisa obviously couldn’t wait any longer.

Kevin smiled, a little unsure how to answer. He didn’t hide he was gay, but he’d never asked Mac if he was out. Plus, this wastheir first date.

“Yes, we are.” Mac’s voice came from behind.
