Chapter 14

“Wait, I need to get this all out. Your kiss will make me forget myself.”

Kevin nodded again. He swallowed hard and watched a flush spread across Mac’s face and down his neck. The fact that Mac was nervous only made Kevin fall harder.

“What I’m trying to say, probably not too eloquently, is I’ve fallen in love with you. I-I want to share my life with you.” Mac’s voice cracked at the end and he took a moment to breathe in deep and exhale. “You respected my wishes and let me do my best to court you, so I want you to know I am willing to wait, too. Wait until you’re ready to make our relationship more permanent, like moving in together, or making a commitment. But, just so you know, I’mready now. For everything.”

A tear spilled over Kevin’s cheek as Mac poured out his soul. Mac wiped it away with his thumb.
