“Done it,” the macaw repeated as he hopped off Brian’s shoulder and began to eat.
“I wonder if we could teach him to whistle the theme from the Addams Family,” Brian mused.
“Do not even think it,” Conley muttered, going to one of the windows. “Yeah, we’re not leaving the house today.”
“Maybe we should go back to bed,” Brian replied, waggling his eyebrows.
“Maybe we should eat something first? Like breakfast?”
“Killjoy.” Brian punched his shoulder. “But, yeah. That might be a good idea.”
They left the lights on in the solarium for the macaw, before going downstairs. Conley suggested they eat by firelight, “Given that it feels like the middle of the night,” so while Brian continued on to the kitchen, he lit the fire then sat back on his heels, staring at the dancing flames
