When the drawing was finished, Brian decided to try something new with it. Normally, the most color he would add to one would be with colored pencils or inks, depending on the original medium. This time, he was going to use a wash of watercolors. And it had better work or he’s not going to get his present until after the New Year, if then, as long as it took to get this one the way I wanted.
It did work, much to his relief, and surprisingly well. As he stood back, surveying the final product, he decided he’d use the same technique on some of the drawings he would be taking to the gallery. Expanding my repertoire is always a good thing.

A week before the holiday, Brian and Conley bought a large Christmas tree and put it in front of the living room window. They were going to spend one afternoon searching for new ornaments for their collection, until Conley remembered the ones Alistair used to put on his tree.
