He laughed.
“Speaking of, I saw Tim ogling you last night.”
“Yeah.”
“Did you spend the night together?”
“You’re awful nosy.”
Veronica snorted. “Like you didn’t already know that. Did you?”
“Uh-huh. I dropped him off at the resort before coming here.”
“You’re getting stuck on him again, aren’t you?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Stuck on him? We aren’t in high school anymore.”
“I know that, and you know what I mean, so stop deflecting. You know he’s just here for the reunion, Brandon.”
“Yes, and I am fine. I’m not falling for him,” he told her, and to himself he sounded pretty convincing. He was proud of that.
“Are you sure? You aren’t generally the casual-sex type.”
Brandon scowled. “I can do casual sex.”
“I know you can, but you don’t.”
“I have.”
“Who?”
Brandon huffed and thought about it. “That guy Nelson in San Francisco. I went there for business three years ago, and we had sex that weekend.”
