He was getting closer, but progress was slow, and his body weakened, then numbed. He kicked with his legs, but he was losing sensation in his arm, and his vision blurred.
“Finn!”
Trent was close, and Finn had never been more relieved to hear the angry shout of his name. His arm was tugged, and he groaned, then winced, pressing his teeth together to ride out the surge of pain.
“Finn are you hurt?”
He jolted at Brody’s voice. He was in the sea and had taken hold of Finn’s other arm as they dragged him out of the water. Finn staggered up with both Trent and Brody supporting him.
Finn blinked, and fought for breath. The cold wind chilled him, and he shivered wildly. His attention was drawn to a brown blur rushing up the beach. Jasper wasn’t shuddering from his trauma, but running happily with his tail whipping back and forth.
“Are you okay?” Trent asked.
Finn shrugged weakly. “Just jarred my shoulder.”
“Good, cause now I’m gunna lay into you—
