“I’d love to.”
Benjamin stood up slowly, staring straight ahead. He held still for a second to test his balance. “So, what are we waiting for?”

It was drizzling and the shipyard was deserted.
John nearly walked right into the scaffolding.
“Careful where you’re stepping, man! I don’t want to have to carry you back!”
“I swear I’m in complete control of my faculties, Benjamin!”
John sat on a pile of lumber, arms crossed in front of him, nose in the air, examining every inch of the Sunrise. Benjamin stood next to him, studying him, following every movement he made, spellbound, until John suddenly closed his eyes.
“What are you doing?” Benjamin asked, smiling.
“I’m trying to imagine you barking orders from the quarterdeck.”
Benjamin smiled, filled with happy memories of standing with Jack on the quarterdeck or perched in the crow’s nest.
