The doc completed fussing around while Mason tried not to stare at the man in the bed, but his gaze at last flicked there. To his shame, Miles noticed.
“Hope you’re not tiring the convalescent. Saving his life doesn’t give you privileges to take up his time, especially when he should be resting.”
Kyle—who had closed his eyes again—opened them and blinked. “Saved my…?” His puzzled and questioning stare flipped to Mason.
“I was part of the team who found you.” Mason dismissed this with a wave of his hand, but Miles wasn’t having it.
“They all believed you dead. Mason refused to leave you living, or undead, in a cage. When they realised you lived, he’s the one who broke the lock.”
