Travis walked up. “Hey, you always said to always keep the gun concealed.”
“Well, exception to every rule, my boy.”
Joy said, “Grandpa convinced me to go nude. He’s so right, and it feels so free. I should have done it years ago.”
Angela wandered over. “I’m a bit shyer. This is as far as I could go.”
Travis said, “Winston and I already saw you naked.”
“But we’re outside now. Anyone can see me.” She smiled sheepishly.
Winston grabbed Grandpa’s arm. “Come see what we bought you.” He moved lumber, pulled back a tarp, and showed off the new couch. “It’s brand new. Right out of the showroom of the Johnson’s Furniture Store.
Grandpa touched it and sat. “Oh, boys, this is grand. Just grand. Thank you. How much did you pay?” He grinned. “Let’s get it inside and take the old one out. We’ll burn it.”
When Travis and Grandpa were inside, Winston sidled up to Joy. “Hey, I know it’s none of my business, but how did it go with Grandpa?”
