Chapter 26

Appalled at his foolishness, he left the kitchen and took a quick tour around the sparsely furnished living room. It didn’t look like Rafael spent much time there at all.

Grant continued to explore and found a den, rich with the omega’s unique scent. Breathing deep, he sucked it into his lungs, wallowing in the tantalizing aroma. This was the room where Rafael spent his time.

Computer equipment covered a battered wooden desk and spilled over onto a Formica table. A flat-screen television hung on a wall, with a well-worn, brown easy chair facing it. On the back of the chair hung a homemade crocheted afghan. It was old, but preserved with care. With a small smile for the wild jumble of multi-colored yarns, he buried his nose in it and shamelessly savored the lingering scent.
