Chapter 4

“I got here early. Nice to meet you, Arthur.”

“Same here. Let me get a coffee refill for you?”

A few minutes later, they sat across from each other. Arthur took in the average looking big man, over six feet tall, with hair showing at the top of the smock, but he was clean-shaven. He was probably about fifty pounds overweight. Arthur liked that he was clean-shaven and couldn’t estimate the age. He didn’t like overweight guys, but by itself it wasn’t a deal-breaker.

They chatted about medical issues and interests before getting a bit personal.

Arthur asked, “So where are you in life?”

Gary leaned on the table. “Married and divorced in my twenties when I was still trying to be straight. I came out after the divorce. Everyone was shocked, I mean, look at me, I played football in high school and college. I’m six-foot-three, two hundred eighty pounds, and the epitome of masculinity. I’m out. Are you?”

“How old are you? Is it okay to ask?”
