Chapter 5

“Keep your shape, dude. You’re thirty. That’s like fifty for straights.” He rubbed his hands over his arms and torso, enjoying his lithe body. One hand lingered over his low-rise aqua briefs, squeezing his package.

Someday, I’ll meet the right guy.

He headed to the apartment’s front door to be sure the deadbolt was locked when Xander pushed through it. Arthur grinned. “Well, hey there. You’re late getting home.”

Xander’s smile crinkled his eyes and lit his face as it always did. “You know how it is, long hours at work and then the wild, single nightlife.” He gazed at Arthur’s briefs. “Were you on your way out?”

Arthur chortled. “Nope, ready for bed. I was checking the door.”

“It’s only eleven P.M., why so early?” Xander winked.

“I’m a doctor and know the importance of sleep. I’m not a party animal like you. You’re gone more than you’re here.”

“So, then you’ll reduce the rent I pay?” Xander smiled again, lighting his face. Their eyes met, and Xander winked.
