Chapter 11

Taking a second to admire her beauty once more, Nikki sighed with longing before she answered, “Oh, yeah. I think I found the perfect one.”

Brynn snorted, and Nikki nearly swooned at the cute expression on the redhead’s face. “All right, let’s do this,” she said with renewed determination as she headed toward the cash register. Nikki hadn’t seen the moderately-sized book until Brynn dropped it on the counter for the cashier to scan. She stepped back with the book in her hand after paying, allowing Nikki her turn. She couldn’t see the label on the book but felt slight trepidation on her own choice. Brynn stood by the door, donning her wooly hat and pulling on her gloves. “Why don’t we enjoy the snow? We can sit in the park,” she offered, and Nikki followed, buttoning up her coat and tucking her purchase under her arm once again.
