Her mother nodded, reaching out and taking her hand. “You are so strong, honey. Please don’t hesitate to call us if you need anything, and I mean anything!” Her mother gave her hand a strong squeeze before standing. “Well, I better get going. I don’t want to make you late for your date.” Brynn stood and followed her mother to the front door of her apartment, her mother gathering her in a hug before she opened the door. “You better call me if you need anything. If I find out you didn’t call me, just remember, you aren’t too old for a good butt whooping.” Her mother laughed, kissing her cheek, and left the apartment.
