“Sure.”

Brynn grabbed a mug, filling it with coffee before taking it to her mother who was perched on the couch. “Where are you going all dolled up?” her mother inquired. It wasn’t out of ordinary for her mother to show up unannounced as she knew Brynn’s schedule and checked on her periodically

It had taken a toll on her that Brynn had succumbed to such an injury in her body and spirit. This, combined with the approaching anniversary, made her mother feel protective and Brynn wasn’t surprised that she stopped by. “I guess you could say I have a date,” she answered tentatively as she sat beside her.

Her mother beamed and grabbed hold of her hand. “That’s wonderful! Who is the lucky lady?”
