“Hey, Mom.”
“Okay. What’s going on?”
His father shrugged. “Beats me. Oh, heavens. Please don’t tell me Kyle is pregnant.”
Clement almost choked in surprise. “What? Dad, Kyle and I are both men. Neither of us can get pregnant. We lack the proper organs for it.”
His father laughed. “I know. I was trying to get you to loosen up. You’re looking really tense right now.”
Clement would have rolled his eyes at his father if he wasn’t so nervous at the moment. “Dad, I really need you to be more serious.”
“Fine, fine. What’s going on? Lover’s quarrel with Kyle?”
Clement bit back an irritated sigh. “No! Kyle and I are good. More than, actually.”
“Okay,” his father said while leaning against the back of the couch and obviously trying to get into a more comfortable position. “Please enlighten us. You haven’t acted like this in a while.”
