“Coyotes, foxes, and a few wolves were already around. They’ve just increased their numbers. A stray mountain lion and a lynx or two. Lots of deer, both mule and white-tailed. Seen a few moose and a small herd of elk, too.” TJ grinned slightly. “Can’t say I’m as thrilled with the skunk population, but it goes with the territory.”

“Don’t blame you a bit.” Donovan chuckled. “That’s the last critter I want to run across.” He shuddered dramatically.

“Not sure there’s enough tomato juice in the county to bathe you in.” He tilted his head as if considering his statement.

Donovan blinked innocently. “Awwww. You’d be kind enough to wash me?”

TJ snorted. “Not if you reek of skunk. No way in hell.” He eyed Donovan. “Strip down.”

Donovan froze. “You want me to do what?”

TJ shook his head. “We’re taking a hike—in bear form. After all, can’t have you tromping through poison ivy again.

“There’s that.” Donovan laughed. “Can’t say as I’m a big fan of those shots.”
