Not now, Donovan chastised his inner beast. He took a drink. “What is the saying? Moss doesn’t grow on a rolling stone. Well, I’m one of those. The next adventure, the next corner of the world.”

A flash of concern appeared on TJ’s face before it disappeared just as fast. “So, this is another stepping stone to some greater place?”

Donovan pursed his lips and went with his gut. “No. This is home. All the things that big cities can offer doesn’t even come close to what Forgotten has.”

TJ gave a tiny nod.

“I’m happy here. My job is great. Mary is a hoot.” He picked up his spoon and dug in again. “I’m not leaving here. There’s so much more to do, to see, to explore. Hills, trees, wilderness, wildlife.” His gaze lifted to meet TJ’s.

A moment of sensual promise passed between them. TJ felt it like a small electrical zap to his senses. He swallowed. “And, no night life to speak of,” TJ pointed out.
