Chapter 16

“Here we are,” she said, dramatically flinging open the door. “Shane’s room.”

Shane barely had a chance to thank her and tell her the room was lovely.

“The wardrobe is full of clothing, but I’ll move it all this evening so you’ll have some space. I think the drawers in the bedside table are empty, but again, I’ll see to them later. And then I really must get my bags organised.”

“That’s alright,” said Shane. “I don’t have much stuff. I won’t need much space. I’ll be okay.”

Mona traced a finger along his jawline. “Aren’t you a darling? So attractive, too. Michael, you’ve found yourself a real prize.”

Shane had never seen Michael so uncomfortable. He was positively squirming on the spot. When he realised Shane was looking at him, he winked.

Mona flitted about the room, opening drawers and doors, tut-tutting before moving onto the next point of inspection.
