Shane has never managed to catch a break. His mother died when he was a teen and his father left home the day he turned eighteen. Then he met a man he thought would fulfill all his dreams. “That shouldn’t be a problem,” he heard Michael say.


Shane went into the bathroom to collect his toiletries. When he returned to the main room, he noticed Michael walking to the door.


“Yes, I can vouch for him.” Michael glanced over his shoulder and smiled at Shane before going outside.


The rest of the conversation was nothing but murmurs, and having finished packing, Shane could only sit on the side of the bed and wait for the outcome.


When Michael returned, Shane carefully examined his lover’s face. “No go?” he asked.
